My Services

Your logo is commonly your businesses first impression for prospective customers. If viewers initially connect with your business identity the likelihood is they'll be more open to the unique solution you're offering. Strategically build a logo that translates your company's distinctive features.

My Process

Discovery Stage

I ask several questions, analyze, and research to determine what you feel you need for the look of your brand, and what will work best for increasing company impressions. Researching the industry, competitors and what worked well for past clients to provide your brand a unique, yet functional identity.

Moodboard

A mood board will help me understand the visual direction you would like to take the brands identity towards. Using elements and styles from varieties of external design projects and other brands helps me narrow down certain directions to avoid, saving time, money and unnecessary back-and-forth meetings for both the designer and client.

Strategy Stage

Once I grasp an understanding of visual experiences you enjoy and dislike, I can then start strategizing which visual directions will functionally express the unique solutions your business is offering. This stage will help envision a range that the styles enjoyed can extend into future branding, social exposure and imagery stylizing.

Sketching Stage

Depending on the deadline, the sketching stage is usually the most extensive period of the project. This is where I will explore ideas with little-to-no contact to the client. This stage allows me to produce freely without limitations using pen and paper the old school way.

Concepts Stage

After sketching, I then take the ideas into the computer and create variations. This allows me to clean up the sketches and implement gridding to ensure the logo is pixel-perfect. Depending on the budget, I will create presentation decks with the logo variations in black and white, with conceptual notes. This permits less distractions (color biases, typography, etc.) and will relay an understanding of initial visual impact.

Revisions Stage

After review of the concept presentation decks, and you have decided on 1-2 concepts that you feel works best for your business, we land at the revision stage. This is where slight adjustments to the original concepts occur to get the logo to what you know will be a winner. However, I will provide my knowledge, and constructive input to these revisions if I feel the visual strategy could be disrupted.

Identity Stage

This stage begins after revisions are finished and a final logo is decided upon. This is where the choices for the following identity elements will be decided on (depending on budget/package chosen by client).

Color palettes: using advanced color theory.
Typography: varieties in pairs of Primary Typefaces, Body Fonts and Tertiary fonts.
Imagery Styles: overlays, logo placements, filters, etc.
Lockups: Different layouts of logo, business name, taglines, etc.
Added Features: Business cards, Letterheads, Invoices, Etc.

Brand Guidelines

Also dependent on the budget, a brand guidelines deck will be designed and built. This ensures the logo and brand identity doesn't get altered, misconstrued, and/or completely disregarded when externally-sourcing the logo for marketing purposes, trade shows, print materials, etc. As well, if your business hires a different designer contracted or full-time this will provide a universal file correspond with when designing new projects for all of the brands identity needs.

questions?

A few things clients
normally ask me

I prefer to establish a flat-rate project cost with process goals. This allows me to put my focus on designing something great instead of counting hours. A down-payment will be required to begin a project.

The price of a logo and identity design varies depending on a number of factors involved with the scope if the project. Together we will assess your goals, deadline, and needs and I will develop a pricing proposal with three options.

Of course! The project is based on your business needs, therefor you will have a majority say in the final design. However, being the professional in the field I will recommend design strategies that have proven results.

You have the say in the deadline you would like to have the project finished by! However, I require a minimum of 1 week for an individual variation with 1 revision. As well, tighter deadlines require a higher budget.

I provide several design services. Most commonly is social media post design, and full development of a unique website to match the new identity. Variably I offer design packages with discounted rates if your project scope requires it.

Brand Identity

Differences in branding and Identity?

Branding is the emotional response from the customer, while an identity is the tangible and visual elements of the brand. Your identity plays a major role in connecting viewers with visual consistency in order to create a memorable experience for prospective customers. Your branding is the physical and mental experience your business offers to customers consistently.

How I can help:

My goal is to create the visual experience for your company, something enticing that will initial draw viewers and turn them into first time customers. It is then up to you to live up to the customer expectations consistently. Combining pleasant service experiences with memorable, consistent visuals reinforces a strong strategy for boosting spoken word of your business.

" A brand is no longer what we tell the consumer it is, it is what the consumers tell each other it is "
